Monday 6 September - Saturday 30 OctoberA Population of RabbitsAre patterns inherent in nature or is it inherent in the human experience to identify patterns? Is there a similarity, a set of rules, to the movement of everything- from planets to gear mechanisms? What are the motivations of control and manipulation in the act of making, gardening, stacking and sorting? In approaching these questions, we have brought together Jonathan Diorio, Deborah Feiler, Gemma Land, Veronique Maria and Paul Matosic to exhibit their works, which may go some way to provoke conclusions. Free Entry Open Monday-Friday, 10am-4.30pm

Saturday 25 September 8pmTony McPhee and the GroundhogsFormed in 1963, the Groundhogs were among the first British bands to play what is now commonly called blues-rock. The name , taken from a John Lee Hooker song, took on new meaning when they toured with the legendary bluesman later the following year. Over the more than fifty years that have followed, their cult status has been unshakeable and though their greatest chart success came in the early seventies, they continue to recruit new fans throughout the world. Tony McPhee recently featured in BBC4's Blues at the BBC series.
"A journey through the mists of time, back to an era when heavy rock and the blues were welded together... Tony McPhee is an authentic cult hero, with echoes of the late Rory Gallagher" The Times

Saturday 2 October 8pmDry The River (plus Julian Tulk Band)Though officially just over a year old, Dry The River have already been featured on Radio 1, BBC Introducing, played a couple of Black Cab sessions and supporeted Vieux Farka Toure and Johnny Flynn on tour. Lead singer Peter Liddle's candid falsetto has a sense of warmth and naivety - a long way from his angst driven vocals as the lead singer of Newbury's rock icons Tempers Idol. Its a similar point of departure for violinist Will Harvey, who also has roots in Newbury as the lead singer (and violinist) of Ska legends The JUnglists. Dry The River has been highlighted as a "next big thing" in a few places - Q, TimeOut, Radio 1...
"Beautifully fragile folk rock" Q

Saturday 23 October 8pmThe Reverend Peyton's Big Damn BandConsisting of washboard, bottleneck slide, a five-gallon bucket and kick drum, the Big Damn Band aren't huge but the sound is mighty. The Reverend (and Kentucky Colonel) is accompanied by his wife and distant cousin on songs routed in the blues tradition of hard-bitten reality and enduring optimism. Like Peyton's earliest influences - Charlie Patton and Bukka White - he sings about tough living with sincerity, from experience, replacing themes of cotton picking, smuggling and infidelity with songs about crystal meth, the evils of Wal-Mart, the cost of living and murder, as well as some uplifting numbers that celebrate rural life, offering renewed hope in hard times. "The band bring to their retro-fabricated rootsy Americana an utterly gripping compulsion..." Dan ArboriseRecommended by Edward at Preston Reed As soon as you hear Dan Arborise sing you'll realise that the frequent comparisons to John Martyn and Nick Drake are fully justified.
