Mary Hare won the Senior 'Youth Speaks' Finals held in Reading this week.

The Mary Hare Senior team won the 'Youth Speaks' District Finals held in Reading this week. This annual competition is run by the Rotary Club and is open to schools across the country.
The first round took place last year and our team of Fenella, Rolf and Christianah won the first round, taking them through to the district finals held at the University of Reading, with a thought-provoking presentation entitled, "Why Learn A Foreign Language?".
The team fielded a substititue as Christianah had already left for her half-term break (thank you, Russell) and were delighted when it was announced that the team had beaten 7 other local schools to win the Senior competition!
Well done to all who took part and thank you to team coach, Miss Wyman. We look forward to seeing how the team fare in the next stage - the regional finals in March...
