Year 9 met some interesting characters from the rainforest earlier this week

Year 9 took a walk through the rainforest recently and met some interesting characters along the way! The class welcomed Luke from 'ZooLab' a company who offer hands-on workshops in schools to enhance the Science curriculum.
Luke brought along a few friends who live at different levels of the rainforest. Each time a new creature was introduced, the pupils thought about where they lived, what they would eat and who their predators might be. They were allowed to handle most of the creatures if they wanted to, with one or two exceptions (much to the relief of some!). During the session they saw a giant snail, a giant milipede, a giant cockroach, a tarantula, a tree frog and a snake!
Ross commented afterwards, "I enjoyed ZooLab and Luke who talked about the rainforest. I carried all of them but not the spider because they said that was dangerous. It was fun for all of us, stroking and carrying. I liked the part when I saw the frog on the wall and he was climbing and everyone said, 'Amazing!'. I liked the part when the frog jumped."
