Many teaching, care and ancilliary staff battled their way against the snowy elements this week, to ensure that life at Mary Hare School could carry on as usual.

Friday 8th January 2010

Many Mary Hare staff battled the elements, travelling long distances to ensure that disruption to the Mary Hare School timetable was kept to a minimum.  Staff  who were not directly teaching helped to supervise pupils and drivers, domestic, catering and maintenance staff were praised for their efforts to clear pathways, cook and clean and help transport staff to and from school.  A huge team effort ensured that many lessons continued as well as examination classes.

Needless to say pupils still took the chance to pelt each other (and staff!) with snowballs, as the early part of the snow was enjoyed, during playtime on the school fields.  Some sophisticated snow structures were built, including battlements complete with snow-ammunition and a giant ice-block igloo.

With examinations approaching, the Sixth Form were still able to settle down and take advantage of some extra revision classes, later in the week.
