The 2009 Mary Hare Christmas production, 'Uptown, Downtown' finally took to the stage this week.

The much awaited School Christmas production, 'Uptown, Downtown' finally took place in Arlington Arts Centre this week, much to the delight of students and staff who had worked so hard on the show. There had been fears that, due to illness towards the end of term, the show might have to be completely cancelled.
'Uptown, Downtown' was based on the ballet, 'Fancy Free' by Bernstein and set in New York city. The show told the story of three sailors (played by Ben, Conor and Mikhail) and featured some impressive singing performances and skillful dance routines. 'Uptown, Downtown' was an excellent show and performances were particularly impressive given the limited rehearsal time, due to illness the preceding week. The success of the production was a fantastic example of Mary Hare staff and students deciding that 'the show must go on!'.
A DVD of the production will be available in 2010.
